In the 2002 movie “Spider-Man”, we follow the story of Peter Parker, a high school student who lives with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben in New York City. Peter is an intelligent but socially awkward teenager who often gets bullied by his classmates.

One day, on a school field trip to a genetics lab, he is bitten by a genetically modified spider. The bite gives him superhuman abilities such as enhanced strength, agility and the ability to climb walls like a spider. He also gains a sixth sense that alerts him to danger.

At first, Peter uses his powers for personal gain like winning money wrestling matches, but he soon realizes the responsibility that comes with having such powers. When his beloved Uncle Ben is killed by a car thief whom Peter had previously let escape during a robbery, he decides to use his powers to fight crime and become Spider-Man.

Meanwhile, Norman Osborn, the CEO of Oscorp Industries and father of Peter’s best friend Harry Osborn, undergoes an experimental performance-enhancing treatment that drives him insane. He becomes the Green Goblin and sets out to destroy Spider-Man and anyone else who stands in his way.

As Spider-Man battles the Green Goblin across New York City, he also struggles with his personal life. He develops feelings for Mary Jane Watson, his longtime crush who is dating Harry. He also tries to maintain secrecy about his identity while dealing with newspaper editor J. Jonah Jameson’s smear campaign against him.

In the final battle between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin atop a skyscraper, Spider-Man ultimately defeats the villain but must deal with the consequences of revealing his true identity to Mary Jane.

The movie ends with Aunt May giving Peter some wise advice about responsibility: “With great power comes great responsibility.” We see Peter swinging through the city as Spider-Man once again on patrol - ready to defend New York from any threat that may come its way.

review

Spider-Man is a 2002 American superhero film directed by Sam Raimi, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The film stars Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, a high school student who gains spider-like abilities after being bitten by a genetically-altered spider.

The film follows Peter as he tries to balance his newfound powers with his personal life and his responsibility to fight crime in New York City. Along the way, he must face off against his arch-nemesis, the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), who threatens to destroy everything Peter holds dear.

One of the strengths of Spider-Man is its faithful adaptation of the source material. From Peter’s origin story to his love interest Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst) and his best friend Harry Osborn (James Franco), all of the characters are well-realized and true to their comic book counterparts. Fans of the comics will appreciate these touches, while newcomers will find it easy to get invested in the story.

Another standout aspect of Spider-Man is its action set pieces. From Spidey’s first web-slinging sequence through New York City to his climactic battles with the Green Goblin, the film delivers thrilling superhero action that still holds up today. The special effects may not be as advanced as some modern blockbusters, but they are used effectively and enhance rather than detract from the story.

The cast also shines in their roles. Tobey Maguire is perfectly cast as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, bringing both heart and humor to the role. Kirsten Dunst’s Mary Jane is a strong love interest who becomes more fleshed out throughout the trilogy. Willem Dafoe chews scenery as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin, delivering one of Marvel’s most memorable villains on screen.

While Spider-Man has its flaws - some of its dialogue and plot points are a bit cheesy - they can be forgiven in the context of a fun, classic superhero film. It may not have the grit or realism of some modern superhero movies, but Spider-Man remains an enjoyable watch that captures the spirit and energy of its comic book source material.

Overall, Spider-Man is a must-watch for any fan of superhero films or comic books. With its iconic hero, memorable villain, and thrilling action set pieces, it’s no wonder it kickstarted one of Marvel’s most successful film franchises to date.

As a child, I was moved by the movie “The Bad News Bears Go to Japan” where Japanese professional baseball players and American actors performed in front of a large audience. This made me fall in love with the movie. This blog is my review of the movie that I actually saw. Please use it as a reference when renting movies.

For a long time, in between housework,
I would go to the movie theater to watch films and then write reviews of the movies in a diary which I stored away in a closet.
When I showed these reviews to Azesan, he suggested turning them into a website.
I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity. I may be nearing the end of my life, but if reading my reviews can move the hearts of younger people,
I think that would be wonderful.
It may even become a catalyst for various realizations and changes in their lives moving forward.
